Homemade season 2 episode 1
If you read this blog regularly, you’ll know that I decided to make a few episodes or seasons of my Homemade Alternatives to Store-bought products, and today on the list is guacamole. How many times have you find out that store bought guacamole just doesn’t taste as good as fresh, natural, homemade guacamole. Homemade guacamole is a great way to enjoy avocados, because unlike many store bought guacamole dips, homemade guacamole keeps avocados as the main ingredient.
And here’s the thing: easy creamy homemade guacamole is incredibly easy to make. All of the ingredients are likely sitting right there in your pantry cabinet. You don’t need any equipment more elaborate than a bowl and a table fork for mashing, and it all comes together in about 10 minutes.
So curl up with some tortilla chips, a movie, and a big bowl of yum, ’cause it’s avocado time!
Ingredients
- 2 Avocados
- 2 Thin Scallions, trimmed and finely chopped
- Juice of One Lime
- 3 Tbsp of Finely chopped Cilantro
- 1 Jalapeno, seeded and finely minced
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half and remove the stone.
- Scoop the flesh into a bowl and using a fork, mash it to your desired consistency.
- Add juice of one fresh lime immediately to prevent browning.
- Add chopped scallions and cilantro.
